Le Musée du Louvre

Paris 75001

Je suis vraiment chanceuse parce que le Louvre est à cinq minutes à pied près de mon bureau à Paris. Il est très beau quand il y a des lumières qui illuminent les vitres comme d'or à dix-sept heures.

Luckily for me, the Louvre is a five minute walk away from my office in Paris's 1st arrondissement. It's great to see it all bathed in a warm golden glow during the evening.

I love that each part of the Louvre's architecture tells its own story. You have the modern and iconic Louvre pyramid glittering in glass by Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei built in the 1980s directly situated amongst the French Renaissance, Louis XIII, French Baroque, (etc) and Gothic underground annals that the Louvre Palace is constituted of. It was originally constructed as a French Palace for the royal family but is now open to the public as a museum.

A big plus is that it sits right on the riverside of the Seine, so I get to take a stroll past on my way home!
