I love that in the middle of such a bustling city, there's such a lush, well-cared-for, and vegetative oasis. The Grand Mosque of Paris is a quiet, tranquil place for Muslims to worship and pray, but it's also open to visitors for a small fee. I went on a day when I was still recovering from an illness, and I was so thankful for this place because it reminded me that although I am an outsider, the city of Paris accepts everyone.
The tiles and craftsmanship that went into each tile, pillar, light fixture, and carpeting was beyond incredible. The enchanting, cool-hued ceramic tiles lining in the courtyard make it feel like you might be gliding across a swimming pool as you step across. The Mosque also has a small library and exhibition space for visitors to peruse and learn more about Islam.
