PÂTISSERIE - The word is used to denote both the pastry and the shop that sells the product; French dessert pastries which are light and sweet. Ranging from macarons to cakes, they are protected by French and Belgium law, you can only call your store a Pâtisserie if you employ a licensed master Pâtissier (pastry chef).
